Design That Feels Personal
Intentional Interiors
Lighting plans, textile selections, sound suppression, visual cues, grab rails, barriers to entry, covered loading and unloading areas, security features, medical supply storage, and sensory input are all examples of elements that can be intentionally and tastefully layered into a design plan to enhance how a home supports a client’s needs. These changes can be made in a specific room, on a level, or throughout the home to increase independence, comfort, and safety. We believe that accessible design should still be aesthetically pleasing – recognizing that there are thoughtful ways to add these elements that align with the goal of a beautiful home.
New Build Projects
From new Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) to basement or attic conversions for apartment-style living, there are many solutions to create additional private living areas for individuals aging in place or with developmental disabilities (or caregivers) to dwell on a family’s property, while still allowing everyone to have their own space. These spaces can be thoughtfully designed to include accessibility features that support the individual’s needs, while also adding to the property value or overall flexible use of your home.
Home Reviews & Urgent Plans
This category of services is for those wanting to assess safety risks within a home, often in response to an urgent need for oneself or a loved one. We connect with the client, their care team (e.g., PT, OT, Speech, ABA, Case Manager), or other relevant stakeholders to gain insight, and we conduct a thorough review of the home through the lens of safety, comfort, and independence. A comprehensive plan is created to quickly execute any needed improvements, and those improvements are completed by EH’s licensed affiliate contractors, easing this stress during a stressful season of life.
